Netherlands approves Tesla’s Full Self-Driving for public roads
Tesla’s supervised Full Self-Driving just got the green light in Europe. Dutch regulators at the RDW officially approved FSD after more than 18 months of testing, making the Netherlands the first EU country to authorize the system on public roads.
The approval is significant because it could pave the way for broader FSD rollout across Europe. Tesla’s European headquarters sits in Amsterdam, so the Dutch move feels natural—but it’s still a major regulatory milestone.
The RDW’s sign-off means Tesla owners in the Netherlands can now use FSD Supervised, which requires driver supervision but handles most driving tasks. Other EU nations are likely watching closely to see how the system performs before making their own decisions.
