Sony stops taking orders for most memory cards
Sony has stopped accepting new orders for nearly all of its CFexpress and SD memory cards, effective March 27th. The suspension affects CFexpress Type A and Type B cards, plus SDXC and SDHC cards across most product lines.
A handful of models are still available: some Type B CFexpress cards and low-end SF-UZ series SD cards remain in production. But once current inventory runs out, they’re gone. Sony isn’t accepting orders from consumers or authorized retailers anymore.
The move signals a major shortage of memory card stock. Sony hasn’t explained why the suspension is happening, but the timing suggests the company can’t keep up with demand or has faced supply chain disruptions.
If you need memory cards soon, your window is closing. Check retailer shelves while remaining stock lasts.
